 Happy New Year's Eve!

The time has come to put on your party dress and heels and wait for the clock to strike midnight and start the New Year with a kiss... or something like that. New Year leads all sorts of expectations and resolutions and my favorite, new trends and styles. This look is for the girl out on the town or possibly at a stylish house party. I am one of those gals who can't wear white without spilling something down myself and if you're anything like I am, its almost required that you kick off the New Year in black. My LBD (little black dress) has silver strands in adding just a little touch of New Year sparkle it is from F21. My chubby crop coat is PJK (Patterson J Kincaid)  in my opinion it is the perfect New Year's Eve touch, it is warm for snowy and cooler weather yet it is bright and bold and making a statement. It has a perfect crop giving it a touch of elegance and class even if it is cobalt blue! If you live in a colder area adding a pair of patterned or colored tights would be a great touch to the look. You sadly can't see my shoes, but I would pair this with a simple black heel or sparkled silver for an extra kick of fun.

I wish you all a happy and safe New Year's Eve and hope that if you are in the spirit of making resolutions you keep them! Special thanks as always to my fearless sister who braved the wintry weather we had to take these pictures for me! Check out her fabulous photography and blog in the link to the right!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

On the night before Christmas all through the house our family is preparing for the day that lies ahead. Not a creature was stirring other than my computers mouse.  With I have visions of shoes and handbags dancing through my head!  There is one tradition in our family that will never be dead. As a child reading the night before Christmas and opening gifts to preparing our Christmas lunch! Everyone has their own Christmas Traditions, one of my families and many other families traditions consist of getting new pajamas every year. Each year I look forward to unwrapping my pajamas and having a new pair to wear during Christmas morning and Christmas Day. The new pajama's always make Christmas pictures look nice, especially when they have no wrinkles or stains from waking up on Christmas morning.

Throughout the years my parents have bought my sister and I several different brands and types of pajamas, my favorite pajamas almost always come from Victoria's Secret!

Nothing quite says Christmas morning like red flannel pajamas! These are lightweight and warm at the same time making for an excellent temperature while exchanging gifts!

I also love getting to pretend that I'm a Victoria's Secret model while posing in my jammies!

I adore how this top has buttons on the sleeves so I can roll them up during the day especially great when eating!

The top has the great ruffling trim and I think it is so feminine and classic. It just really makes me happy.

A great feature in these shorts is the back pocket detail! The pants that are also flannel have a back pocket as well! I am inseparable from my phone and it allows me to keep my phone with me while doing Christmas activities!

This picture just about sums up how my Christmas mornings are spent! Laying down opening gifts with my family! Including my baby cat, Chewee (Chewbacca) , he is finally making his debut on my blog tongue out and all! Chewee and I wish all of you a safe, blessed, and very merry Christmas!

The Night Before Christmas

Christmas is my favorite time of the year! I always look forward to celebrating the holidays with family, friends, food, and most of all FASHION. I usually am not a huge dress person, however around the holiday's a make an exception and wear as many dresses and sweater dresses as possible. This however, is my Christmas Eve look for church and family time!

Wrapping is a skill I have yet to master (unlike my rapping skills) however, I have a feeling this pretty paper will help!
I love spending time with family, decorating the tree and giving gifts! And what better way to place presents under the tree than in a great sweater dress.

This is one of my favorite sweater dresses! I love how the back is easily adjustable especially for every gal who enjoys a great Christmas feast!
The dress I will be sporting on Christmas Eve is from Forever 21! It's about a year old and I love that it is gray. The fact that it is gray makes it wearable for more than one event it can be changed easily! Adding a few accessories like statement necklaces, scarves, colorful/patterned tights, even funky heels can change the look! Be sure to check back on Tuesday morning for my Christmas Day attire!!

FLANNEL & FUR.

I love wearing fur in the winter and fall and I also love wearing flannel. Anyone who is a close friend of mine I'm sure can vouch for me in saying that I am addicted to fur and flannel. Also I would like to state that I am an animal lover and this fur is faux not real!! This look is really winter and fall friendly and easily transitional from day to night looks.

and yes, I am always on my phone....

Nail polish is Essie's Bahama Mama the perfect deep red/Bordeaux wine color for holiday season.

The awesome faux fur vest is from Forever 21, I have had it a little over a year and it is so great, its actually lined which helps it to gain heat, I hardly ever have to wear a heavy jacket or coat with it. If I were to add a jacket or coat, I would pair it with a brown leather motorcycle jacket!

My necklace you can kind of view in this picture it is dogeared and it is "xo" seriously my perfect necklace. Dogeared makes the perfect dainty necklaces and this one is the perfect collar bone length.

The flannel is also Forever 21, it is from the generations collection, I adore it because I am incredibly long waisted and it actually covers my stomach and a little over my jeans.

Just casually leaning next to a plant....

I love jeans, I wear jeans all year round it is always so hard to find the perfect pair of jeans. However, I found my perfect pair of skinny jeans. I love these jeans so much, they are so soft have just enough stretch in them to where they do not sag or look too big by the end of the day. These jeans are by Textile (a collection by) Elizabeth and James done by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. I have a major style crush on the twins.

"Men I may not know, but shoes, shoes I know." -Carrie Bradshaw

These are my beloved Jeffery Campbell "Lita" suede tan boots. They are seriously the most comfortable boot heel I have ever worn. I can wear these all day and not worry about my feet getting sore. They also have a platform in the front which is great for walking especially if you look like a baby giraffe learning to walk for the first time in heels. They are also great if you are a giraffe like I am because they have so much height in them. These babies make my usual 5'9" self into a 6'3" giantess.

Lumberjack chic.

Minus the whole bearded man part.

IF you're a goober like I am or you just really love accessories you can add your own style of glasses, luckily my mother has collected several styles over the years and I can just take my pick for the day or occasion.

These are just the perfect John Lennon wannabe glasses or a scientist of the 1800's the choice is up to you!

Special Thanks to my amazing sister @ Climer Photography for doing these wonderful pictures for my blog even in her hectic shooting schedule. You da best! Don't forget to check back on Friday for my next post!

Give Thanks

So I am finally back to blogging again my schedule has lightened up and I can't wait to share with all of you some of my favorite looks this fall! Thanksgiving is tomorrow and I have so much to be thankful for, my family, my friends, my good health, and so many more things! I'm also thankful for all of my clothing which are like my children! So here is my Thanksgiving Dinner look!

I opted for a more Blaire Waldorf look for this Thanksgiving! This skirt is seriously the bee's knee's. It is from the Phillip Lim collection for Target. It has a great amount of length to it which makes it timeless to me. I love the oversized animal print too, it just adds a touch of fun to the look.

My shirt is from Jessica Simpson collection, it is the perfect cool blue v-neck. It actually has some ruffles on the hips but it actually made the skirt fall perfectly around my hips. I adore simple. If I changed the top for cooler weather I would probably wear it with a sweater since Missouri weather changes every five minutes.

I love headbands, they are the best to keep my long hair back out of my face. My headband is from Jane Tran who is so awesome! Jane Tran creates these amazing hair accessories from bobby pins to headbands.

Jane Tran is Chan Luu's sister, aka the original designer of wrap bracelets and amazing earrings and necklaces all sooo unique and beautiful.

The tights are royal blue the knee's aren't quite as sheer as they look in this picture but the tights certainly add warmth to the fall and winter weather.

The skirt actually had a sweater that is supposed to go with it but I opted to not buy that and only get the skirt, the sweater is amazing and Phillip Lim's ad features it with the sweater. However, together I think it is just entirely too much for my style and body.

Have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving everyone and I will blog again as soon as I can!
Also, special thanks to my beautiful sister at Climer Photography for all the wonderful pictures, love you!

Touch of Gray.

No, not the song by The Grateful Dead... A dress, duh! I am not a huge fan of color so, my closet is all neutrals, black, white, and gray. This dress is perfect for Summer which is exactly why I decided to share it today! It can be worn day or night with heels or with flats. I adore the versatility of it. You can even add a blazer or jacket to it. It is perfect for weekends whether its date night, girls night, a party, work, or even just a summer trip, this is the dress of all dresses. My love for maxi dresses I have already expressed so this dress was something I could not live without hanging in my closet. A GRAY maxi dress!  This dress has such an awesome feel to it, its light weight but at the same time it has enough weight to make it hang flattering the figure. Its structural with a shoulder piece I normally would not like it except it has amazing details from the darts to the drawn in waist to the studding. This dress is a perfect addition to summer, spring, and even fall wardrobe. Tracy Reese's, Plenty collection never fails to make me impress me and make me happy. I decided to pair it with my new favorite summer heels from Target that have been feature before in your epidermis is showing.

Special Thanks: My beautiful sister, Climer Photography for taking these pictures! Never disappoints me! Check out her beautiful photos, DIY's, and blog HERE or on the link to her page on the left. ---->
