Weddington Way | Bridesmaid Challenge
I was recently asked to participate in the Weddington Way Challenge of helping a bride style her wedding party! The lovely ladies at Weddington Way sent me four fabulous bridesmaids dresses for this wedding party creating a challenge for me to decide! I eventually decided that the bride I was styling for was having a classic and romantic wedding theme which led to my decision of choosing this gorgeous blush toned cameo chiffon dress for the bridesmaids. In my opinion bridesmaids are supposed to enhance the wedding and support the bride and groom on the big day!
When styling the hair and makeup look I decided to play up the romantic style and chose makeup like Kate Hudson's from the Lacama Art Film Gala. A simple wave to the hair pushed back so there is no fuss or a headache like the millions of bobby pins when doing an intricate up-do. For the face, a nude and light gray smokey eye heavy mascara and light eyeliner with a pop of pink lip color.
Since the wedding is during the winter this one shoulder gown needs a bit of warmth for bridesmaids when entering, exiting, and during outdoor wedding photos. So I found this amazing blush furry cover up through BHLDN that would not over power the bride and groom but would only enhance the bride and add to the romantic feel of the wedding. Also from BHLDN I found these gorgeous cluster earrings that will look gorgeous when the hair is pushed back. Since we are also working with a one shoulder gown I felt that wearing a necklace was not suitable for the neckline so I added a bracelet to highlight the wrist. This could also be a gift from the bride to bridesmaids saying, "Thanks for helping me tie the knot!" This bracelet is the rose gold sailors knot from Kate Spade and I absolutely love it with the blush tone dress. Then a simple nail that is neutral to not distract from the brides beautiful bouquets that I am sure bridesmaids would hold I chose Essies, "topless and barefoot" for the nails which is perfect because it is nude with a hint of pale pink. The shoes are open toe even though it is winter because I think that they are absolutely amazing. The shoes are from Menbur and are actually a light lavender but I think they are so classic and tie together a feminine, classic, romantic bridal party.
I had so much fun styling for this wedding challenge! Hopefully this may even inspire some of my engaged girlfriends! If you are planning a wedding or know someone who is planning a wedding and I suggest stopping by Weddington Way and looked at their amazing bridesmaids dress collections!

Coachella or Bust
Its music festival season and this week starts Coachella... I am dying to go, one day I will make it. I love Coachella and all of the style and interesting ways people decided to use pieces. Its all about kicking off summer and spring and celebration of music and appreciation of fashion and music. I am predicting a lot of similar looks to last years, lots of crop tops, dusters, booty shorts, macrame, fringe, round lenses, layers of jewelry, boots, booties, maxi skirts, maxi dresses, leather, lace, floral prints and head gear, hats, and as always feathers and tie-dye.
So if I were heading to Coachella or any music festival this would be in my wardrobe:
From head to toe
- hats: big and floppy
- headbands: feathers, tie-dye, turbans, flowers, floral, etc.
- sunglasses: oval, Lennon, cat eye, buggy, colorful
- jewelry: necklaces different lengths light weight, bracelets; wraps in particular, and always natural stone rings.
- dresses: baby doll dresses, maxi dresses, open back dresses
- tops: all sorts of sleeveless dusters, crop tops, macrame, tie up, tank tops, flowy, crochet, bikini tops, bralettes, bra tops, eyelet lace, ombre, tie-dye(tasteful), fringe tops, fringe dusters.
- bottoms: booty shorts: denim, tribal, leather, striped, dyed, waxed. maxi skirts.
- cut out booties - tribal print booties
- fringe or cowboy booties
- sandals
- and for the brave souls, wedges
Hope everyone attending music festivals can enjoy and find something awesome to wear! If you do go please share your music festival style with me!
Check back tomorrow!

Madison
