Sparks Fly

The Fourth of July is just days away and over the years has become on of my favorite Holiday's to dress for. Its all stars, stripes, red, white, and blue which also makes it one of the most colorful days in clothing history for myself. Fourth of July is the special time of year in which we set off firework, cook out, spend time with family and friends, and most importantly celebrate our independence! For my Fourth of July look I complied a look that transitions from day to evening. The button down can be removed to expose the red tank and untuck it to wear during the day with the white shorts. Then depending on how the weather is during your Fourth, you can add the stripped button down to the red tank to make for a warmer and classic Fourth of July evening. If your fourth is a little more on the glamorous side of things, you can always add a classic nude heel to elevate your look. The look is a classic fourth of July style that can be mixed and matched to fit your style as well as your plans!

Oscars

The Oscars are the closest thing to a Super Bowl. Being a girly fashion loving girl who can't easily attend the red carpet I love to break down the fashion looks each year. I love watching The Oscars in anticipation of who will wear what? Will they look amazing? Will it be a bust? Will the stars trip? Who will win? The only thing that can possibly spark my excitement more than an actor or actress I chose winning, is an exceptionally gorgeous look from a celebrity where they have their moment to shine not only as an actress, but also as a fashion icon to future generations of fashionistas. So without further a due here are my favorite looks from The 87th Annual Academy Awards, The Oscars!

I adored Jennifer Aniston in this beautiful Versace gown. I thought the colors and the sparkles  made her look like glowing while and fresh. Although we are used to seeing her in her classic black dresses and gowns I love that she stepped out of her usual box and wore a gown with amazing neutral tones. Also neutral tones and whites were a huge trend on the red carpet last night.

Jennifer Lopez, holy moly! J.Lo looked like the fairy princess in Elie Saab.I love that J.Lo also continued in the trend of wearing neutral toned embellished gown. Like Jennifer Aniston, she stepped slightly out of her typical zone of style and went for a full gown instead of a form fitted, curve hugging dress which was a nice change of pace for this classic beauty.

Following a winning trend, Julianne Moore looked to die for in this amazing Chanel gown. She looks so old Hollywood glam! She looks like a winner and most certainly was! I am so excited that she was able to wear a gorgeous look and win for a role in a movie shining spotlight on a disease near and dear to my heart.

I have seen Reese Witherspoon come into her own these past two years that she has attended award season. Each red carpet almost is better than the next. I love how classic, elegant, and timeless she looks. I know not everyone has been a fan of this look, but to me this screams, "I am a movie star and I don't need to be fussy with fashion to look amazing." Plus, who can argue when Tom Ford is designing?

Oh Emma Stone, my heart loves this actress and she can virtually do no wrong in my eyes on red carpet or screen. I at first was not sure how I felt about the Elie Saab and then as soon as I saw it in motion on the screen I was in love. I think that the sleeves give it an amazing touch of sophistication and the beading adds extra glamour. I cannot even say one thing I don't love about this look because she honestly nailed it. She knows how to rock a red carpet and this is a Hollywood look for her that I simply adore.

My best dressed star of the evening, the beautiful, the talented, the stylish Rosamund Pike. There is literally nothing I can say that is wrong with this look. She has had a rocky season of red carpets but this look was her wow Hollywood spotlight moment. I saw her and I immediately knew that this was it, the Givenchy gown is tailored to her body perfectly. Most stylists don't like to stick their clients in red on a red carpet but this red shines, it gives me everything I want in a red carpet look. Simplicity in the styling, classic hair, and makeup this was Rosamund Pike's best look yet. It is the kind of look that makes me excited for the next red carpet season. She is the epitome of Hollywood and glamour.

Who were your favorite stars on the red carpet this year?

Weddington Way | Bridesmaid Challenge

I was recently asked to participate in the Weddington Way Challenge of helping a bride style her wedding party! The lovely ladies at Weddington Way sent me four fabulous bridesmaids dresses for this wedding party creating a challenge for me to decide! I eventually decided that the bride I was styling for was having a classic and romantic wedding theme which led to my decision of choosing this gorgeous blush toned cameo chiffon dress for the bridesmaids. In my opinion bridesmaids are supposed to enhance the wedding and support the bride and groom on the big day!

When styling the hair and makeup look I decided to play up the romantic style and chose makeup like Kate Hudson's from the Lacama Art Film Gala. A simple wave to the hair pushed back so there is no fuss or a headache like the millions of bobby pins when doing an intricate up-do. For the face, a nude and light gray smokey eye heavy mascara and light eyeliner with a pop of pink lip color.

Since the wedding is during the winter this one shoulder gown needs a bit of warmth for bridesmaids when entering, exiting, and during outdoor wedding photos. So I found this amazing blush furry cover up through BHLDN that would not over power the bride and groom but would only enhance the bride and add to the romantic feel of the wedding. Also from BHLDN I found these gorgeous cluster earrings that will look gorgeous when the hair is pushed back. Since we are also working with a one shoulder gown I felt that wearing a necklace was not suitable for the neckline so I added a bracelet to highlight the wrist. This could also be a gift from the bride to bridesmaids saying, "Thanks for helping me tie the knot!" This bracelet is the rose gold sailors knot from Kate Spade and I absolutely love it with the blush tone dress. Then a simple nail that is neutral to not distract from the brides beautiful bouquets that I am sure bridesmaids would hold I chose Essies, "topless and barefoot" for the nails which is perfect because it is nude with a hint of pale pink. The shoes are open toe even though it is winter because I think that they are absolutely amazing. The shoes are from Menbur and are actually a light lavender but I think they are so classic and tie together a feminine, classic, romantic bridal party.

New Year's Eve is tomorrow night meaning that the upcoming year 2015 allows for new opportunities and adventures. This also means one of my favorite things, new trends, styles, and color pallets. So for tomorrow night I would like to ring in the New Year in one of my favorite styles that I don't believe I will be saying goodbye to in 2015. I love wearing fur vests with leather it makes me feel like a rock star, which is how everyone should feel when welcoming a new year! I chose to pair an olive green top with a fuzzy sweater for warmth and sticking with my Christmas Eve trend of wearing leather jeans wearing booties instead of heels allows comfort in standing or dance away 2014! Adding my favorite sparkled bracelet to give a hint of new year excitement and a bold lip to tie my look together to wave goodbye to 2014 and say hello to 2015. Will you be greeting the New Year in style?

Dreaming of a White Christmas

Christmas is so close I can almost hear packages ripping open and dream of sugar plums dancing in my head! This Christmas I have decided to go a little more casual for the night before Christmas! Since it is slightly warmer outside still, I am in favor of wearing a sweater and leather to keep cozy and warm. I am not huge on accessories so this fuzzy sweater with sequin dazzled collar glitz up the sweater. It could also easily have the heels swapped with booties or fun flats. This look is simple and not fussy and could be worn for Christmas dinners, churches, parties, and other outings. I am also a firm believer that adding red lipstick to holiday looks! How do you plan on dressing for this holiday season?
