Weddington Way | Bridesmaid Challenge

I was recently asked to participate in the Weddington Way Challenge of helping a bride style her wedding party! The lovely ladies at Weddington Way sent me four fabulous bridesmaids dresses for this wedding party creating a challenge for me to decide! I eventually decided that the bride I was styling for was having a classic and romantic wedding theme which led to my decision of choosing this gorgeous blush toned cameo chiffon dress for the bridesmaids. In my opinion bridesmaids are supposed to enhance the wedding and support the bride and groom on the big day!

When styling the hair and makeup look I decided to play up the romantic style and chose makeup like Kate Hudson's from the Lacama Art Film Gala. A simple wave to the hair pushed back so there is no fuss or a headache like the millions of bobby pins when doing an intricate up-do. For the face, a nude and light gray smokey eye heavy mascara and light eyeliner with a pop of pink lip color.

Since the wedding is during the winter this one shoulder gown needs a bit of warmth for bridesmaids when entering, exiting, and during outdoor wedding photos. So I found this amazing blush furry cover up through BHLDN that would not over power the bride and groom but would only enhance the bride and add to the romantic feel of the wedding. Also from BHLDN I found these gorgeous cluster earrings that will look gorgeous when the hair is pushed back. Since we are also working with a one shoulder gown I felt that wearing a necklace was not suitable for the neckline so I added a bracelet to highlight the wrist. This could also be a gift from the bride to bridesmaids saying, "Thanks for helping me tie the knot!" This bracelet is the rose gold sailors knot from Kate Spade and I absolutely love it with the blush tone dress. Then a simple nail that is neutral to not distract from the brides beautiful bouquets that I am sure bridesmaids would hold I chose Essies, "topless and barefoot" for the nails which is perfect because it is nude with a hint of pale pink. The shoes are open toe even though it is winter because I think that they are absolutely amazing. The shoes are from Menbur and are actually a light lavender but I think they are so classic and tie together a feminine, classic, romantic bridal party.

FLANNEL & FUR.

I love wearing fur in the winter and fall and I also love wearing flannel. Anyone who is a close friend of mine I'm sure can vouch for me in saying that I am addicted to fur and flannel. Also I would like to state that I am an animal lover and this fur is faux not real!! This look is really winter and fall friendly and easily transitional from day to night looks.

and yes, I am always on my phone....

Nail polish is Essie's Bahama Mama the perfect deep red/Bordeaux wine color for holiday season.

The awesome faux fur vest is from Forever 21, I have had it a little over a year and it is so great, its actually lined which helps it to gain heat, I hardly ever have to wear a heavy jacket or coat with it. If I were to add a jacket or coat, I would pair it with a brown leather motorcycle jacket!

My necklace you can kind of view in this picture it is dogeared and it is "xo" seriously my perfect necklace. Dogeared makes the perfect dainty necklaces and this one is the perfect collar bone length.

The flannel is also Forever 21, it is from the generations collection, I adore it because I am incredibly long waisted and it actually covers my stomach and a little over my jeans.

Just casually leaning next to a plant....

I love jeans, I wear jeans all year round it is always so hard to find the perfect pair of jeans. However, I found my perfect pair of skinny jeans. I love these jeans so much, they are so soft have just enough stretch in them to where they do not sag or look too big by the end of the day. These jeans are by Textile (a collection by) Elizabeth and James done by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. I have a major style crush on the twins.

"Men I may not know, but shoes, shoes I know." -Carrie Bradshaw

These are my beloved Jeffery Campbell "Lita" suede tan boots. They are seriously the most comfortable boot heel I have ever worn. I can wear these all day and not worry about my feet getting sore. They also have a platform in the front which is great for walking especially if you look like a baby giraffe learning to walk for the first time in heels. They are also great if you are a giraffe like I am because they have so much height in them. These babies make my usual 5'9" self into a 6'3" giantess.

Lumberjack chic.

Minus the whole bearded man part.

IF you're a goober like I am or you just really love accessories you can add your own style of glasses, luckily my mother has collected several styles over the years and I can just take my pick for the day or occasion.

These are just the perfect John Lennon wannabe glasses or a scientist of the 1800's the choice is up to you!

Special Thanks to my amazing sister @ Climer Photography for doing these wonderful pictures for my blog even in her hectic shooting schedule. You da best! Don't forget to check back on Friday for my next post!

Pretty in Punk

I love punk music and punk style however, trying to do a punk post became very hard for me.  I am not the punk style wise in the slightest so this was quite the challenge. My inner rock goddess wanted me to be all rock n' roll or emo black so here was my attempt at a Met Gala everyday look for a punk post! :) Also sorry for all the pictures I just loved them and couldn't decide!

I was trying to channel Taylor Momsen and her slips but when doing so I felt a little too provocative so I decided to add a baggy black tee over my slip.

The slip is actually a lining from an Elizabeth & James dress I almost wore but it was too wintry.

The black slouchy tee is from Urban Outfitters and has been featured before.

The motorcycle boots are from BCBG and I love them any time of the year.

My nail polish is by Essie: Fiji is the color name.

Rings in order from left to right: Eagle(chicken): Forever 21, Turquoise: vintage piece, Raised Stud ring: Forever 21, Turquoise:vintage, Eyeball: candy machine, Swirly Ring: vintage.

Black lace bracelet is actually a head piece from F21, again silver gladiator bracelet is from Flower Merchant and the studded and black bracelet above it I made!

Product used in my hair for the awesome texture: Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

Everyday Karma necklace is from Target.

Rosary necklace from Charming Charlie's and has awesome extenders.

Black booties are awesome. These have tiny holes and I found them at Rack Room Shoes. Very comfortable for a heel.

I adore the zipper detailing on the insider of the booties. They make it easy for my high arch to fit in the shoe.

This was just to show how long that slouchy T is!

I mix matched earrings from F21 this being the Ace of Hearts.

Also from F21 gold lips with red rhinestones.

Clinique lipstick color: A Different kind of Grape

Silly rock on picture.

Not quite punk, but the bracelet is actually a hair piece so I decided I must show it that way!

I used Mac sparkly black on my eyelids and a liquid eyeliner from E.L.F.
Huge thanks once again to my beautiful and sweet sister for dealing with me and always taking these awesome photos. Check her blog and her website HERE for awesome photos and DIY's.
Check back for my next post on Thursday!
