Follow Your Arrow

It's not quite fall weather yet, so its kind of a personal preference as to how you dress. If you want to embrace your fall wardrobe completely or if you want to spend a little more time in summer it's perfectly acceptable in the Midwest. And like Kacey Musgraves song points out, follow your arrow and choose what works best for you! What I like to do is combine fall and summer pieces to make a simple look that I can wear late summer into mid fall. So for this look I combined my combat boots and military jacket with a pretty girly lace dress and my awesome sister let me borrow her amazing boho leather bag. This is one of my favorite ways to transition between summer and fall with jackets and boots over summer dresses!

olive you

Olive all my blog followers and I LOVE the color olive! As the days of warm weather days are numbered and the fall days are slowly creeping in... While the weather is still warm and the evenings are starting to cool down, it is the perfect time to pull out your favorite maxi dresses and layer them with jackets and scarves. This summer, a local store went out of business and I was able to snag this great olive/military green maxi dress before it closed.  It is a great transitions dress not only because of the color but because of the weight and the cut. Now, yes the dress is low cut but it can easily be changed by adding a bandeau beneath it and a jacket and/or scarf over it. It is a great outfit for this pre-fall transitional weather!

twenty-one

So we have finally hit a patch of slightly cooler and more pre-fall weather. How did I choose to dress in this less sweltering heat you ask?? I chose my go to traditional white after Labor Day piece. My weakness, my white forever twenty-one blazer in addition to a classic white silk tee shirt paired with a pair of destroyed denim shorts. I absolutely adore a classic white look with small hints of black in the sun glasses, cuff of the blazer, jewelry, purse, and shoes. It creates a cleaner look to the relaxed summer ease to transition into our pre-fall temps.

Bang Bang

The temperature just keeps rising and with that, the less clothing the cooler you stay. So how else to you stay cool while looking classic and effortless this weekend? A great way to keep classic looks is to find some of your favorite pieces that are black and white and add a pop of color. After taking these pictures the other day Mattel's Barbie showed a look on Instagram super similar which was just too ironic for me to not post my look this week as well. If you also grew up playing with Barbies and got a small amount of your love for fashion from her, then this look and her account may be something that you will love just as much! In this post my shirt, bag, and shoes have all been featured before. The shoes most recently in, "Ain't it fun?" top was previously in my "Destroyed Series" bag in "Mid-Week Moody."

Running on Sunshine

Sun dresses are the easiest ways to stay cool in the end of the Indian August heat. My orange hued dress is by Alice & Olivia. It has a fabulous keyhole back and is a silk that is super light weight perfect for the beginning or end of a hot summer. The easiest way to transition a summer dress  into pre fall and early fall is to add a darker shoe and a denim jacket as shown below! Here is an easy way to dress up or dress down a basic summer dress!

Ain't it fun?

What is the best way to stay cool this August? Shirt dresses and pony tails! I absolutely adore the way that shirt dresses are light weight and cool during the high August nineties! Simple and classic way to look chic and stay cool! My sister and I decided to try out something new and try to make a video!
